MARAS – MORAY

Today we will have an unforgettable experience visiting these two unique places. Moray with its semicircular terraces, which was probably a center for agricultural experimentation in Incas time, and Maras salt mines, which have been exploiting salt since immemorial time until today.

Today after picking you up from your hotel, we will go to Moray, which will be our first stop, here we will be able to learn more about the Inca technology applied to agriculture, let yourself be surprised by its imposing concentric terraces.

Then we will direct you to Maras Salt Mines which are a set of more than 3000 pools, from which salt is obtained by evaporation, here the famous pink salt is extracted, which is only found in a few places in the world, due to its high mineral content, it is considered medicinal also now is essential in the rich Peruvian gastronomy.

Finally, we will return to the city of Cusco.
